NBSE holds meeting with head of institutions

Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) held a one-day meeting with the new head of institutions in Kohima on Friday at Platinum Hall, NBCC, Bayavü Hill, Kohima.
Resource person, principal, Japfü Christian College, Kigwema, Dr Visakhonu Hibo, shared on the topic – “Expectation from the Heads of Institutions”.
As heads, she said it was imperative to improve everyday, start practicing and learn new things.
She encouraged the heads that the NEP 2020 would become meaningful only when the heads activate the changes.
The aim of education was for all-round development, and as head of institutions, they should work towards the wholesome growth of the students, she said. In the keynote address chairman, NBSE, Asano Sekhose, said the heads of institutions and the Board should work in close coordination towards a common goal of imparting quality education.
She expressed her delight to see the newly appointed heads in the meeting. She stated that as head of institutions, along with the position comes great responsibilities and the need to equip themselves to meet the challenges of the ever-changing trends of providing meaningful education. As heads, it is their responsibility to drive the school in the right direction and motivate the teachers and students to do better.
She also highlighted the recent activities undertaken by the Board to align with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The first session of the day started with secretary, NBSE, Rangumbuing Nsarangbe, as the chairperson of the programme.
Sister Maria Gorretti from St. Joseph Hr. Sec. School, Chümoukedima offered the invocation.
The second session started with the presentation of the activities on Academic and Examination Matters by joint secretary (academics), NBSE, Iluheing Nsarangbe.
IT Matters and interventions introduced by the Board were presented by chief coordinator IT, NBSE Kekhrielhoutuo Nakhro.
In conclusion, secretary, NBSE, gave the concluding remark and proposed the vote of thanks.
Books on vocational subjects were distributed to schools for their library reference.
