Naga Council Dimapur along with all Dimapur-based Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) Wednesday re-affirmed on the “One Government, One Tax” resolution adopted at the public rally on October 31, 2013.
This was among the five-point resolutions adopted at a joint consultative meeting between Naga Council Dimapur with Dimapur-based civil society organizations on November 30, to deliberate on taxations/collections faced by business communities and individuals.
This was informed through a press statement by NCD vice-president Holuto Aye and general secretary LK Peter Anal.
They said that the meeting appealed to individual to respect, honour and adhere to the people’s resolution (October 31) in letter and spirit.
The meeting also resolved to immediately ban any type of fund collection, seeking of free will donation or contribution and selling of calendars or diaries in the name of Christmas or New Year celebrations by individuals, organisations or groups.
The house also appealed to Government of India to expedite the process of bringing an early solution to the protracted Naga political issue once and for all to end multiple taxations levied by ever-increasing Naga political groups on citizens of the State for the last many decades.
It was also resolved to have another consultative meeting for next course of action against una-bated taxation with all Dimapur-based tribal apex bodies, all non-Naga communities and all rec-ognised CSOs on at Tourist Lodge here on December 7 at 11 a.m.
As a move for beautification of Dimapur on the festive season, the meeting also decided to ap-peal to all owners to whitewash/paint their shop buildings and maintain cleanliness.
The meeting was chaired by NCD vice-president (Adm) Holuto Aye and vote of thanks delivered by vice-president (CB)GK Rengma.
