NCP to announce name of legislature party leader today

Having won seven out of 12 seats it contested in the recently concluded assembly election and emerging as the single largest party in the opposition, the Nationalist Congress party (NCP) has informed that it would announce the NCP legislature party leader on Saturday.
Speaking to Nagaland Post, NCP state unit president Vanthungo Odyuo said that party’s national general secretary and North East in-charge Narendra Verma would be arriving Nagaland on Saturday after which certain decisions will be taken. Odyuo said survival of NCP was important in Nagaland, but maintained that more details will be known after meeting with Verma.
The winning NCP candidates include Y Mhonbemo Humtsoe from Wokha, Y Mankhao Konyak (Mon Town), A Pongshi Phom (Longleng), S Toiho Yeptho (Suruhoto), Namri Nchang (Tening), Picto Shohe (Atoizu) and P Longon (Noklak).
On Thursday, Narendra Verma told a national daily that the party would be holding a meeting of legislative party within two days to decide on the leader of the Opposition.
