NDPP welcomes decision to renew pact

Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) Friday welcomed the decision for the continuation of the NDPP-BJP Alliance on the 40:20 seat sharing formula for the general elections 2023. NDPP congratulated chief minister Neiphiu Rio for “once again” using his wisdom and political acumen in continuing the alliance.
NDPP sought to put on record its appreciation to the BJP leadership led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, union home minister Amit Shah and BJP president JP Nadda for their magnanimity in agreeing to continue with the alliance. NDPP said the party has always been confident of the commitment of the BJP, adding that the latest announcement has laid to rest many doubts and rumours that have arisen on the eve to the 2023 general elections.
It said the decision also confirms the trust and confidence the BJP leadership has on chief minister. With “such a strong alliance” in place, NDPP expressed confidence that under the leadership of Rio, deputy CM Y Patton, NDPP president Chingwang Konyak and minister and State BJP president Temjen Imna Along, the alliance would return back to power with bigger numbers.
NDPP called upon the people to continue their support to the alliance, adding that its commitment of providing a government that was transparent, accountable and accessible would continue to be its slogan and thrust.
