Need to streamline education department: Dr. Kekhrie Yhome

Advisor, School Education an State Council of Educational Research and Training, Nagaland (SCERT), Dr. Kekhrie Yhome has stressed on the need to streamline the Department of School Education (DoSE), in the light of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
A press release by DoSE informed that the advisor asserted this during a co-ordination and familiarization meeting with officials of school education, SCERT, Samagra Shiksha, Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) and Nagaland Enhancing Classroom Teaching and Resources (NECTAR) project on March 22 at the Secretariate Conference Hall.
Appreciating the initiatives taken by the department, Dr. Yhome stressed on the need to streamline the department of school education in the light of NEP 2020, the need for robust system of coordination within sister departments, and need for rationalization of schools into clusters for effective monitoring and supervision of activities.
The advisor also stated that comprehensive review exercise of school performance for the past 10 years would be carried out to assess the overall delivery and improvement of education.
He reassured the department officers that necessary decisive actions would be taken to strengthen the department and to bring about education solution in the state.
During the meeting, various activities, programmes and plans were presented by the department/organizations.
