Nagaland: Netaji helipad at Ruzazho village inaugurated

SM, IGAR (North), Assam Rifles, Maj Gen Vikas Lakhera, along with Er. Dr. Vekho Swuro in presence of Additional DIG 5 Sector Assam Rifles, Col Manjeet Singh Kooner inaugurated the Helipad and christened as Netaji Ruzazho Helipad on June 1 at Ruzazho village under Phek district.
According to PRO defence, Kohima Battalion of Assam Rifles constructed a helipad at Ruzazho, a historically important village in Phek district which has an indelible linkage with Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in the course of freedom struggle during World War II.


It was constructed by team of Kohima Battalion with the assistance of Engineer Regiment with an aim to provide better connectivity to boost tourism sector and emergency services in the area.
The work was flagged off on December 20, 2022 and completed in record time of less than six months.
The helipad was dedicated to all the parents in Ruzazho village as well as to the entire state of Nagaland as the day marked the ‘Global Day of Parents’.
The event was attended by VCC, VDB secretary, village council secretary, GBs and Assam Rifles team.
The villagers expressed their gratitude for the gesture of the “Friends of the Hill People”. A total of 400 people from Sekruzu area witnessed the event.
