New GPS building inaugurated at Kezo-Basa

Advisor Youth Resources & Sports, Er. Zale Neikha inaugurated the new building of Government Primary School (GPS) Kezo-Basa on Thursday.
Speaking at the programme, Neikha said the newly constructed building was a much-needed facility for the students of the village, however, he said more of such achievements should be undertaken so as to help in the educational aspect in the area.
He said everyone desires to achieve better and that schools should aim to increase the number of students so that all children in the village could have accessibility to education. He urged the gathered teachers and parents to do their part in order to improve the educational standard of the village.
Stressing on the importance of home works, Neikha urged the parents to assist their children in doing such tasks and help them to learn to better concentrate in their studies.
He suggested that parents should guide and nurture their children to choose the right career path and excel in it.
He congratulated the citizens of the village for achieving the milestone and hoped that the students, teachers and parents would care and look after the new building as their own.
In a short speech, director, Samagra Shiskha, School Education, Dr. Kevizakie Rio, said the state has a total of 1953 Government School with around 20,000 teachers in Nagaland. He said Samagra Shiksha aims to make government schools in all recognised villages in Nagaland.
He pointed out that the pillar of student lies in the parents, teachers and the village leaders.
He said SSA plan to provide better facilities and able teachers to the schools of Nagaland to promote education to a better stand for the students.
Earlier, blessings for the new building was offered by Kezo-Basa Baptist Church pastor, Rokosüto Mekro.
The inaugural was chaired by Kevineituo Zecho while welcome address was delivered by village council chairman, Medovi Yongo. Vote of thanks was proposed by School Management Committee chairman, Kethozeho Zecho.
