With the onset of festive season and increase in passenger movement, Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has appealed to passengers not to carry any inflammable/explosive items, and travel with utmost safety by not risking their lives carrying such items.
In a press note, chief PRO Sabyasachi De reminded that during festivals, lot of passengers travel long distances and carry along items including crackers, petrol and other inflammable materials which pose a risk to safety. De said that NFR has been launching special campaigns on regular basis to sensitize passengers and public not to carry any inflammable items while travelling in trains.
He said Railway Protection Force and Government Railway Police apart from TTE’s, coach attendants, guards of train, station managers are monitoring strictly to ensure safety of passengers.
Carrying inflammable objects in trains is a punishable offence and the offender may be penalized with imprisonment of up to three years or a fine of 1,000 or both and shall be liable for any loss, injury or damage.
