NFHRCC plea to release pending bills to contractors

Nagaland Foothill Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) has recommended to the authority concerned to release the pending bills of the construction firms involved in construction of Foothill Road. The committee also appealed to PWD (R&B) to consider constructing bridges/culverts over two rivulets Tadi and Kimpur to make the road pliable at the earliest.
During a joint inspection of the Foothill Road construction on June 9-10 with PWD (R&B) officials, NFHRCC convener Supu Jamir, secretary W Lemba Chang, co-convener Hokiye Yepthomi and assistant general secretary Chenithung Humtsoe in an addendum claimed that they had found that the construction works by M/s RK Construction and M/s HH Co Construction & Supplier had been executed as per the DPR specification, with 100% completion in both Dimapur/Niuland and Tizit divisions.
They however stressed that constructing a medium bridge and a slap culvert over Tadi and Kimpur respectively was a must to make the road connectivity complete.
Regarding work in Tuli division executed by M/s W Chingkam Phom & Co, they clarified that contrary to the earlier technical report submitted to them showing 75-89% work as having been executed, the NOC remained pending as complaints were received from the BJP, 21 Tuli Mandal Unit and Tuli Joint Council Forum pertaining to the actual execution of work from Anaki-C to Yajang-C via Tsudikong, which needed to be reverified as per the specifications of the DPR.
The NFHRCC leaders also appreciated the State government under the leadership of chief minister Neiphiu Rio for sanctioning Rs 20 crore in 2022-23 for Foothills Road construction.
