Nagaland Foothills Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) has resolved to urge the state government to expedite assembly resolutions adopted on September 22, 2022 to construct the Foothills Road through North Eastern Council (NEC) funding.
In a press release, NFHRCC convenor Supu Jamir, co-convenor Hokiye Yepthomi, secretary W Lemba Chang and assistant general secretary Chenithung Humtsoe informed that the resolution was adopted at a meeting held on April 29,2023.
The committee also resolved to appeal to the PWD (R&B) to provide the ongoing division-wise technical progress and performance-based bill released status and display it in public domain at the earliest as the monsoon season was approaching.
Further, NFHRCC reiterated pledge and resolutions by Naga civil society organisations (CSOs) not to pay any land compensations and also not to give any taxes to any groups or individuals since the mission was for the common welfare of the people of Nagaland.
It was also resolved to give a written reply to all group or individual seeking “certain clarifications” from NFHRCC.
Meanwhile, the committee has resolved to convene a joint meeting of NFHRCC, PWD (R&B), office bearers of Dimapur-based tribal hohos and contractor firms to deliberate on the motorable road progression on May 13, 2023 at 10am at NFHRCC Base Office, Kher Mahal, Dimapur.
