NH, TUD welcome ‘September Joint Accordant’

Naga Hoho (NH) and the Tangkhul Union Dimapur (TUD) has welcomed the signing of the “September Joint Accordant” between the NSCN (I-M) and the Working Committee NNPGs.
NH president KH Zhimomi and general secretary lauded the efforts of the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR), saying it was the need of the hour for the Naga people to unify and consolidate its position during these difficult times. “It is the cry of every Naga soul for unity and reconciliation in true spirit and therefore, the September Accordant has given another ray of hope and confidence to the people,” NH stated.
While urging all Naga political groups to stand by its commitment in letter and spirit, NH said the political settlement can only come about “if and only if we earnestly pursue together with mutual respect and understanding.” The hoho hoped that the ‘September Joint Accordant’ bring about lasting peace and understanding amongst the Naga family.
TUD: Tangkhul Union Dimapur conveyed its deep appreciation to the initiative that culminated in the signing of the ‘September Joint Accordant’ between NSCN (I-M) and the NNPGs, with active facilitation of FNR.
In a press note, TUD president Ayo Vashum said FNR has been valiantly soldiering on and this is an unmistakable testament of its remarkably strong character and noble objectives. “We are fortunate to have such a forum in our midst,” TUD stated.
While expressing joy for the reconciliation effort, TUD, however, remind all that it will be reduced to another drab and mundane exercise in the absence of any concrete action from the groups involved. It, therefore, appealed to all involved that they put their hearts and minds to what they have agreed. “May this serve as the ideal trigger to reactivate the points of reconciliation that was agreed upon in the Covenant of Reconciliation of 2009,” TUD said.
