Night curfew along Assam-Nagaland border reinforced

Additional district magistrate Sivasagar, Assam has reinforced night curfew from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. in the 5 km belt in Assam side of Sivasagar district bordering Nagaland with effect from January 17, 2022 for a period of 60 days.
According to DIPR, the night curfew has been imposed as a precautionary measure to prevent occurrence of anti-social elements/extremist/unlawful activities along the border in the belt of Sivasagar district. The order has prohibited movement of any person, group or vehicular traffic during the period. However, magistrate, security personnel– army, CRPF, police and civil officials on duty have been exempted from the purview of the prohibitory order.
