NIRF 2023: Patkai Christian College among top 200 colleges

Patkai Christian College (Autonomous) has been listed among the top 200 colleges in India as per the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Rankings 2023 released by Ministry of Education on Monday.
PCC was the only college from Nagaland to be listed in the 151-200 band.
NIRF framework outlines a methodology to rank institutions across the country. The lists include the ranking of higher education institutes in sub-categories including top universities, and top colleges, and section-wise lists of the best engineering, medical, law, and management colleges, pharma colleges, architecture, and others.
Other colleges from Nagaland that took part in the NIRF 2023 included- S.D. Jain Girls’ College, St. Xavier’s College Peren, Tetso College. National Institute of Technology (institute), Nagaland University and St. Joseph University were also among the participants.
The framework outlines a methodology to rank institutions across the country. The methodology draws from the overall recommendations broad understanding arrived at by a Core Committee set up by MHRD, to identify the broad parameters for ranking various universities and institutions. The parameters broadly cover “Teaching, Learning and Resources,” “Research and Professional Practices,” “Graduation Outcomes,” “Outreach and Inclusivity,” and “Perception”.
New institutions were invited to participate in the ranking exercise through an open advertisement. A total of 5,543 unique institutions responded and offered themselves for ranking under “Overall”, category-specific or domain-specific rankings. In all, 8686 applications for ranking were made by these 5,543 unique applicant institutions under various categories and/or subject domains.
