NLSF slams move to regularise contractual posts of asst. prof

Nagaland Law Students’ Federation (NLSF) has slammed the alleged ongoing process to regularise 154 contractual assistant professor (AP) posts.
NLSF through its media and publicity wing said that the move to facilitate the service of assistant professors without extending opportunity to the deserving ones through free and fair exam would “only jeopardise the spirit of meritocracy among the job aspirants.”
NLSF also said that the legislator’s statement in the assembly regarding process of regularization of contractual appointee was “contradictory statement” and violation of the principles of “equality” enshrined under Article 16(1) in the Constitution.
Further, NLSF maintained that assistant professor appointments under the higher education department should at least follow its due procedural examination process. It, therefore, appealed to the minister to allow free and fair competition for all qualified candidates from Nagaland. NLSF cautioned that it would not remain a silent spectator in its quest for ‘justice for all’, and affirmed its fullest support to Nagaland NET Qualified Forum.
