NMA backs joint declaration

The Naga Mothers’ Association (NMA) has come out in support of the recent joint declaration of the NSCN (I-M) and WC/NNPGs leadership, and hoped that “this will build better understanding amongst our own and take the Naga peace process to an honourable solution respecting Naga rights and history.”
While appreciating the efforts of the Forum for Naga Reconciliation and the peace initiatives taking place, NMA also appealed to the leaders of the NSCN (Khango) to bury their differences and work together for the good of the Nagas.
“This is a crucial time for Nagas and as mothers who have reached out for peace with these top leaders, both in the jungles of Myanmar, including at Taga CHQ and welcomed their peace overtures at Yangkhao village,” NMA stated.
The association, therefore, urged upon brothers of the group, to rise above personal differences and reconcile with each other at the earliest. “Peace and forgiveness is needed most at this moment in our history,” NMA stated.
