No change of guard at state level: NPP

National People’s Party (NPP) Nagaland State held its first annual general meeting for the year 2023 on March 30 at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur, wherein the house, including the district representatives, unanimously endorsed confidence and support towards state president, Dr. Andrew Ahoto Sema, and also resolved there should not be any change of guard at the state level.
In a press release, NPP Nagaland State informed that during the business session the house deliberated on current issues of the party including post-poll analysis, strengthening the party and various proposals to be sent to the party high command.
The house, including the district representatives, also unanimously endorsed full confidence and support towards the state president and his “dynamic leadership which has taken the party forward at all levels.”
The house further resolved that there should not be any change of guard at the state level especially at a time when the party has seen such an “epochal success which has solely been possible due to the immense sacrifice and consistent efforts of the state president and his team.”
Delivering the presidential address, NPP Nagaland state president, Dr. Andrew Ahoto Sema expressed gratitude to the party workers and supporters for their relentless confidence and faith on the party.
He congratulated the five MLAs of the party who have come out successful despite all the odds and hoped that they would work for the betterment and progress of the state as a whole. Dr. Andrew also urged them to support and work in sync with the party men for the larger interest of the party which has been monumental in their success.
Dr. Andrew maintained that NPP has always shown an upward trend since 2017 and has been successful in representing the people’s cause despite all the odds. He termed cohesion, symbiosis and loyalty as the key factors for the success of any organization including the NPP and so he called upon the partymen to maintain the decorum of the party.
Dr. Andrew also encouraged the gathering to remain firm in the party ethics and principles and take the legacy of the party forward through coordinated efforts.
The districts, represented by two members each, termed the success of the party as a hard earned one and thanked the party leaders led by the state president for their consistent trust upon them which led them to work with more determination. They further called upon all partymen irrespective of state or districts to work with a common mindset and not seek undue opportunities.
The meeting was chaired by the state advisor, Thangkhokai Gangte, invocation prayer by state general secretary (IPR & Media), David Khobung, welcome address by state general secretary (admin), Jacob N. Korcha while the organizational report was presented by state general secretary (org), Philip Lam.
A motivational talk for youths entitled “Youth Empowerment” was delivered by general secretary (Admin) of NPYF, Nagaland Justin Lotha while various representatives of districts, state advisors and other leaders also spoke during the occasion.
The closing remarks and vote of thanks was proposed by president, State Women Wing, NPP, Nagaland, Dr. Thungbeni Ngullie, and the meeting concluded with closing prayer by district women wing president of NPP, Mon district, Nino.
The annual general meeting was attended by senior leaders of the state led by the state president along with officials of the state women wing, State National People’s Youth Front (NPYF) and the district units.
