North East Geology & Mining ministers’ conclave on Oct 31

The first North East Geology & Mining Ministers’ Conclave’ 2022 will be hosted by the department of Geology and Mining, Nagaland, on October 31, at Niathu Resort, 7th Mile, Chümoukedima district.
The concept of the first North East Geology & Mining ministers’ conclave will involve brainstorming sessions on how to get the full benefit of revolutionary reforms of the government of India in mining sectors and move with rest of the states in the country.
The main hurdles include—poor infrastructures, road connectivity, remoteness from the main land and other logistics that keep both good exploration agencies and major investors in mining uncertain and apprehensive.
The conclave intends to discuss and resolve—issue of funding patterns from various funding agencies both regional and central for infra-structural developments in NER; systematic exploration and scientific mineral productions of all the minerals in respective states within strict adherence environment policy; development of technical manpower from NER for mineral explorations and mineral development while opening door for competent exploration agencies from outside NER.
It may be mentioned that the conclave will be attended by union minister of Mines Coal & Parliamentary Affairs, Pralhad Joshi as chief guest.
The guests of honour for the conclave include—chief minister of Assam Dr. Hemant Biswa Sarma, chief minister of Meghalaya Conrad K Sangma and chief minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio.
The conclave will be presided by the chairman and convenor minister of Commerce and Industries (Geology and Mining), Health & Family Welfare, Higher and Technical Education, government of Mizoram, Dr. R. Lalthangliana.
