Nov 7 incident: NH urges dialogueto resolve issue

Naga Hoho (NH) has called upon the State government to immediately initiate dialogue with the two confronting parties involved in the incident between Lamhainamdi village under Peren district and Kiyevi village under Chümoukedima district on November 7.
NH president H.K. Zhimomi and general secretary K. Elu Ndang, in a joint statement expressed anguish over the incident and asserted that there should no recurrence of such incident in future. NH said it strongly believed that any dispute could be mutually resolved through peaceful means adding that violence was no means to resolve any difference as it only led to further destructions and loss of lives.
The hoho also acknowledged that there had been a long-pending issue between the two villages that needed to be resolved amicably through traditional Naga way. It also appealed to both the groups to let good understanding prevail in a Christian principle, so as permanent relationship could be restored as good neighbours.
NH also said that at a time when every Naga was awaiting for a peaceful political solution, it was pertinent that there ought not to be misunderstanding or hatred among the family members but who, instead, should strengthen the bond of brotherhood.
