NPCC accuses Assam CM of derailing settlement

Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has asked the Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to “stop escorting” the Nagaland chief minister to “BJP houses to derail settlement of the agreements.”
In a press release, NPCC president K Therie stated that Sarma’s role for Nagaland should have been to fulfil the commitment of BJP which is “Election for Solution”.
As NEDA convener, Therie said Sarma was expected to oversee the welfare of regional peace and harmony in matters of law and order and to promote growth of economy in the region.
NPCC president reminded that all non-BJP chief minsters of Assam have been cordial to Nagaland. He said that even BP Chaliha played the role of peace mission for lasting solution.
“We are sorry to note the escorting role of Himanta Biswa Sarma in derailing the much hoped for settlement to the political problem of Nagas,” Therie said.
