As part of the 11th leg of the district tour undertaken by the National People’s Party (NPP), Nagaland state unit, a consultative meeting with the state parent body-cum-induction programme at Hotel Ura, Kohima, on September 15.
In a press release, NPP Nagaland state unit stated that in his address, NPP Nagaland state president, Dr. Andrew Ahoto Sema expressed joy at the proactive role played by party workers of Kohima in enrolling new active and primary members and underscored the importance of National People’s Party in Kohima.
He stated that many like-minded people and intending candidates were seeking for the party’s ticket, however, he said, the party was keeping a low profile and would publicly announce official candidates at the opportune moment.
Dr. Andrew highlighted the aspirations of NPP as a people’s party which was to bring rapid development in the North East region with collective effort.
Other speakers at the meeting included former minister and senior state advisor Deo Nukhu, state advisor & convenor, NPP Mokokchung district Lima Longchar, NPP Kohima district convenor Dr. Keviseto Kintso and NPYF, Kohima district president William Kelengoto Soleho.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. Keviseto Kintso, invocation was offered by Vikenoto Ltu, vote of thanks was proposed by state NPYF general secretary (Pol. affairs) Moa Imchen, followed by mass benediction.
At the business hour, new members of NPP Kohima district unit were inducted.
The team will be led by Dr. Keviseto Kintso as convenor, Dr. Moalong Longchar as district advisor, Dr. Ketholezo Sorünuo as vice president, Dr. Ketoulelhou Vizo as general secretary (Org), Losii Khekho as general secretary (admin) along with six other members.
