NSCW on July 4 murder case

Nagaland State Commission for Women Thursday said the commission was against releasing of the July 4 accused on bail before the charges were filed.

In a statement, NSCW chairperson Dr. Temsula Ao expressed concern about the delay in framing charges against the suspects arrested in connection with the “rape and murder” of Nungshilila Jamir on July 4 last at Residency Colony, Dimapur.

She said the commission was also dismayed to learn that a second bail petition was about to be heard in the Kohima Bench of Gauhati High Court, Kohima.

The chairperson said the commission joined the protests of other women’s organizations in the state against releasing the four accused on bail before the charges were filed.
