NSRLM promotes ‘ digital transactions’ at GP level

Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) launched “Promotion of Digital Transactions at Gram Panchayat (GP) level” campaign under “Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav 2.0” on March 23 at Phaipijang Village under Chumukedima Block.
A press release by NSRLM stated that the digital transactions are being facilitated to the rural community by the women Self Help Group (SHG) members who identified and designated as Business Correspondent (BC) Sakhi. The campaign would be undertaken in different 129 locations throughout the state till August 15, 2023.
In a keynote address, State Program Manager-Financial Inclusion (SPMFI), NSRLM, Rajuselie Lhousa said the campaign was a national movement to promote digital transaction in the villages and provide financial services at the doorstep of the rural population in India.
In his address, manager-FI, SBI RBO Dimapur, Rameshwar Singh shared the importance of healthy relationship between the banks and the customers.
State head Common Service Centre (CSC), Lanusosang Jamir spoke on the topic “digital service” and explained on how BCs can provide man services such as e-district services, consultation service, various Bank product etc. He requested the community to help and support the BC Sakhi so that it can continue making everyone’s lives easier.
District Coordinator-Financial Inclusion (DCFI), Y. Agnes Ezung while highlighting the status of FI initiatives in the district, said that 330 SHGs have availed credit linkage amounting to Rs. 5.77 crore since 2013. Altogether 76 participants including SHG members and their family members, school teachers, church leaders, local government representatives (PRI/VC) and other rural community attended the programme.
