Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) has resolved to urge upon the Government of India for resolution of the protracted Naga political issue before Nagaland general assembly election 2023.
Nagaland Tribes Council through its media cell said the resolution was adopted at a consultative meeting with the eight tribe Hohos at Kohima on June 30, 2022.
The meet was convened in a follow up action of the resolution adopted in its general council session held in Kohima on May 31, 2022, Nagaland Tribes Council said.
NTC said that the meeting deliberated issues pertaining to: a) strengthening NTC; and b) current Naga political situation vis-à-vis ongoing Naga peace process and, if so demands, to organize peacefully rally for early solution.
The meeting also resolved to support the 14 Tribes resolution to only attend any meeting of Naga political groups (NPGs) jointly with all Naga tribal organisations but not tribe-wise separately.
The house also unanimously resolved to strengthen the Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) to carry forward the issues to be addressed to.
Further, it was resolved that the constituent tribes that have not yet nominated the required strength of the Council members to submit the full strength of members within July 15, 2022.
