NTCP Zunheboto seize tobacco products

National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP) Zunheboto district representatives and police personnel carried out enforcement drive on sale of tobacco products on January 24 in and around the educational institutions at Zunheboto Town.
A press release by Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Zunheboto office informed that team after conducting the raid, penalized five defaulters and seized tobacco products from the shops falling within the restricted areas. The seized tobacco products were burnt and destroyed on the same day in the presence of all the team members, informed CMO office.
Further, NTCP Zunheboto informed that as per Section 6 COTPA ACT, selling of any kind of tobacco products within 100 metres of school area is restricted. The team further stated that it would continue to conduct such enforcement drives all over the district.
