In commemoration of the 25th anniversary of Nagaland University (NU), Lumami, Botany department, an international conference on “bio resources and economy” was held in collaboration with Nagaland Forest Management Project (NFMP), department of Environmental Forest and Climate Change at IIhoshe Kinimi Hall on Monday.
In a press release, Nagaland University Lumami informed that keynote speaker, former advisor, department of Bio-technology and consultant, DBT, North East Region-Bio Technology Programme Management Cell (NER-BPMC) Prof. Mohd Aslam challenged the participants to interact with each other and to come out with a viable outcome.
He urged upon them, to convince the department with viable project and ideas, especially on converting bio resources into economy.
At the programme, chief conservator of Forests, Supongnukshi spoke on Nagaland Forest Management Project while NU vice-chancellor, Prof. Jagadish Kumar Patnaik delivered welcome address.
The inaugural programme was graced by former NU former chancellors Prof. K Kannan and Prof. BK Konwar as guests of honour.
Participants at the programme included professors, former faculties, professors from school of science, research scholars and two participants from Indonesia and Bangladesh.
