Nagaland University Kohima organizes FDP programme

A five-day faculty development programme (FDP)organised by Department of Teacher Education, Nagaland University, Kohima Campus, Meriema sponsored by the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administrative New Delhi concluded on November 11.


The programme was held on theme of “Design, Develop and Deliver Online/Blended Learning Courses”. The valedictory session was graced by Prof. Akali Sema, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Nagaland University, Medziphema, Prof. Pradeep Kumar Misra, Director, CPRHE, Prof. G.N. Tiwari and Prof. P.K.Pattnaik, Nodal officer of the Programme. Prof. Akali Sema appreciated the organisers’ efforts for providing an effective opportunity for the teachers to learn new technological intervention in evolving teaching-learning scenarios. She said that learning technological tools started with the break of Covid-19, and have become an essential part of teaching-learning.


In his welcome address, Prof. GN Tiwari appreciated the efforts from the resource persons, organising team and participants to make the event successful and effective. Prof Pradeep Kumar Misra also appreciated the learning enthusiasm among the participants and encouraged them to implement all the takeaways of the programmes to facilitate learners’ learning.

Dr. Sushil Kumar Singh briefed the programme report with all the technical sessions. Earlier, on November 7, the commencement programme was addressed by Prof. J. K Patnaik, Vice-Chancellor (NU), Prof. G.T. Thong, Pro-Vice-chancellor (Kohima Campus, NU), Prof. Jano S Liegise, Dean (School of Humanities and Education, NU), Prof. K. Srinivas, the Programme Director (ICT & Project Management Unit of NIEPA, New Delhi),Prof, Gyanendra Nath Tiwari, (Head, Dept. of Teacher Education, NU) and Prof. P. K. Pattnaik, (Nodal Officer, Dept. of Teacher Education, NU). During the-five day event, various concepts, tools, and applications like MOOC, OER, Nearpod, MOODLE, Canvas, Google Classroom, Screencasting, Screenpal, OBS, etc., were explored by the teachers.
