Nurses announce total cease work from today

Even as the ongoing agitation by nurses under the banner of Department Recruited Aggrieved Nurses (DRAN) 2021 entered the seventh day, the association announced total cease work from Wednesday, including ICU and emergency services.
Expressing regret that the public had to suffer because of the agitation, the nurses however said that they were compelled to protest as they were treated unfairly by the authorities concerned.
Meanwhile, DRAN office-bearers informed Nagaland Post that they were once again invited to the State Secretariat in Kohima on Tuesday for a meeting with officials from the Chief Minister’s office, Health & Family Welfare secretary, additional secretary and other health officials.
The officials once again tried to convince the nurses to sit for Nagaland Public Service Commission exam for regularisation of their services, but DRAN representatives conveyed their opposition to appear the exam and remained firm in their demand, they said.
Earlier, on Monday, the aggrieved nurses launched the second phase of agitation by wearing scrubs, a protective clothing used by doctors and nurses to help keep cross contamination to a minimum.
They further thanked all well-wishers and civil society organisations for coming forward to support them.
