Opportune time for all to come together: CCFM on Naga issue

Concerned Citizens’ Forum (CCFM) said now was the opportune time for all to come together and pursue the rightful place for a common Naga future with a new relationship for all.
CCFM convener Temjen Paul and co-convener Limasashi stressed that one could not just cry for the sake of settlement but for “Just peace and honourable settlement” once and for all.
They said it was a positive step with genuine concern that Naga negotiators had once again responded to the ardent call of Naga people to continue and pursue the long-pending Naga political settlement in spite of Government of India’s delaying tactics towards resolving the issue.
During the 25 years of ceasefire and negotiations, they claimed that not only Naga negotiators but entire Naga people irrespective of political boundaries had taken the pain in nurturing the hard-earned democratic space for peace and honourable solution. CCFM said it was convinced that when Centre had already declared to the world that Naga problem was political problem, it clearly implied political solution by any standard.
They pointed out that the signing of Framework Agreement was an outcome of the political negotiations under which a final settlement would be arrived at.
With this background, CCFM said there was no dubiety that any discourse on Naga flag and constitution must end with political proprieties.
