Organisations condemn child abuse

Several organisations have condemned the physical abuse and mental harassment meted out three minors by two persons-one styled as an “environmentalist” and another a “manager of waste disposal”
Chakro Angami Kuda Union (CAKU), Chakhro Kuda Razha Angamimiapfü Krotho (CKRAK), Chakhro Angami Kuda Youth Organisation (CAKYO) and Chakhro Angami Kuda Students’ Union (CAKSU) have vehemently condemned the physical abuse of minors by one Ronika Miachieo at Burma camp, Dimapur.
In a joint press release, the presidents of four bodies said that the severe physical injury inflicted upon the minors, who were kept in her custody, was extremely heinous and cannot be tolerated in a civilized society. The four bodies have appealed to the law enforcing agencies to deliver justice and punish the culprit according to the law.
Further, the signatories stated that no member of the community should try to bail out the alleged culprit as they were “ashamed of the existence of such people within the community.”
The four bodies also expressed heartfelt sympathy to the victims and prayed for their speedy recovery from trauma.
PAUD: Phomching Area Union Dimapur (PAUD) has strongly condemned the physical assault on three minors—Chatwang, Nahpang and Nagspsa—from Konyak community by one Ronika Miachieo. In a press release, PAUD president Anai Konyak and general secretary Manpong Konyak stated that one of the minors had to be hospitalised as a result of mistreatment. The union said that per medical report, the minor suffered malnutrition.
The union said that the three children were brought to Dimapur in 2020 by Ronika, who claimed top be a Christian missionary and environmentalist.
The Union has urged the responsible authority to bring the culprit to book at the earliest. It also appealed to all the right-thinking citizens to condemn the incident so that such evil practices were not repeated in the future.
