Police Baptist Church Dimapur Women Department (PBCDWD) celebrated silver jubilee at Police Baptist Church, Dimapur on the theme, “Stronger, Deeper and Higher” on Sunday.
Speaking on the theme, speaker ex. women secretary, NPBCA Pusuinla Longkumer said that celebrating jubilee was a moment of profound thanksgiving to God and a time of reflection, resolution and reevaluation and to set resolutions for the golden jubilee.
Longkumer, said that the jubilee celebration was not only meant for Church bodies, but also to every individuals to find and understand the roots and its inception.
She encouraged the gatherings to serve the Lord wholeheartedly in order to fulfill the purpose of God.
Commissioner of police, Dimapur, Kevithuto Sophie in his exhortation said that the PBCDWD may have fulfilled their objective and goals that was set 25 years ago but should continue to put more effort to achieve the desired goal.
He said Christians in Nagaland were “superficial and were more into material development than spiritual development” and encouraged the people not to get driven by materialistic things but to concentrate and stick to the roots of the Bible.
He urged the churches to organize events such as healing programme for homeless people, drug abusers and for the people who were walking away stray from God and to give importance to them so that they repent their sins and start a better life.
Sophie, also challenged the women department to take Bible approach and to be a practical oriented Christians in-order to take along the churches, departments and the society forward.
Earlier, the programme chaired by women leader Nukshila Aying Doulo began with an invocation by Asst. pastor Bendang Lemtur, short speech by ex. women leader Thondi Khiam, bible reading by Youth president Mhao Kikon, souvenir release by Pastor Rakhu Livi, prayer for women workers by Evangelist, NPBCA Maya, special songs by youth choir and shalom choir and closing prayer by mass were the highlights of the programme.
