PDFL: Puiteing FC reclaim top spot; Barak FA, Lekie Mtei FC win

Puiteing FC returned to the top of the first Peren District Football League (PDFL) on goal difference by thrashing Nsong Area Sports Association (NASA) 7-1 at Jalukie ‘B’ village ground on Friday. Puiteing FC moved above Barak Football Academy both on 15 points due to superior goal difference +14 as against Barak +12.
Putiteing FC’s Kawijibo scored in the 21st minute. He also scored the team’s third goal in the 43rd minute. Dominant Puiteing added the second goal in the 23rd minute through Jangminlen. After the lemon break, Wibonjibou struck in the 51st minute and Kawililakbou made it 5-0 in the 59th minute.
Struggling NASA found the back of the net through the boots of Ningteu in the 70th minute.
But an own goal in the 90th minute handed Puiteing FC 6-1 and Lamraiin completed the scoring in the added time.
Earlier, Barak FA defeated Benreu FC 3-1.
The first half witnessed equal display with counter attacks from both sides.
But just before the final whistle of the first session, Namdonbo of Barak FA drew the first blood. After the break, rejuvenated Benreu FC fought back and found the equalizer in the 54th minute through Rangrangbe’s strike.
Later, in the 81st and 84th minutes Suraibo and Namdonbo of Barak FA scored the third and fourth goals respectively to seal the victory.
In the other encounter Lekie Mtei FC blanked Northern Zeme Sports Association (NZSA) 2-1.
An own goal in the 4th minute, gave Lekie FC 1-0. NZSA’s Ziepwa scored the equalizer in the 15th minute. In the second half, Paulinlung scored the all important goal in the 52nd minute to secure three crucial points for LekieMtei FC.
Third place, Native Feathers and Prime FC, who sat at the fifth position, played out goalless draw to keep top four hopes alive.
