The celebration of Poshan Pakhwada 2023 was launched in Kohima on Monday. A DIPR report stated that Poshan Pakhwada 2023 will be celebrated with various activities at block levels in the district from March 20 to April 3 with the following three themes: Promotion and popularization of Shree Anna/millets for nutritional wellbeing; Celebration of Swasth Balak Spardha and Popularizing Saksham Anganwadis.
Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, Shanavas C asked the concerned department to maintain coordination with all the convergent departments and sought their active participation for the successful implementation of the action plan in the district. He also informed the concerned department to submit a report on the activities taken up with photographs at the end of the programme.
Under the theme “Millet for Nutritional Wellbeing”, various activities will be organised with special focus on use of millet for good health and its nutritional profile for pregnant women, adolescent girls and children from March 21 to 25.
Activities like home visit for nutritional education, healthy baby show and anaemia camp will be held from March 27 to 30 under “Celebration of Swasth Balak Spardha” and cleanliness drive at AWC, seminar on importance of hand washing and award for best performing grassroot level worker will be taken up on March 30 under “Saksham Anganwadis”.
