Precaution dose in private CVCs

Two days after the Centre announced that precaution dose of COVID-19 vaccines will be available to all aged above 18 years at private vaccination centres from April 10, the state health and family welfare (H&FW) department has informed that eligible citizens will be vaccinated with the same vaccine as previous 2 doses (Covishield or Covaxin).
In a press release, the state immunization officer Dr. Rithu Thurr informed that eligible citizens need to carry the 2nd dose certificate, same ID proof and mention registered mobile number used for 2nd dose while going for vaccination at private covid vaccination centre (PCVC) to receive precaution dose. Dr.Thurr also informed that citizens can book appointment for precaution dose at PCVCs or avail walk-in vaccination also.
Precaution dose vaccination will only be available at selected private hospitals that were registered as COVID vaccination centres (CVC). Interested private hospitals can approach office of the chief medical officer for registration as a CVC on CoWIN.
Dr.Thurr said that HCWs, FLWs and citizens aged 60 year or more, would continue to receive precaution dose vaccination free of charge at government vaccination centres.
