President Murmu presents ‘National Florence Nightingale Awards 2021’

President of India, Droupadi Murmu on Monday presented the National Florence Nightingale Awards for the year 2021 to the Nursing professionals at a function at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Nine from the North Eastern states also received the award, they include– three from Manipur, two from Sikkim, one each from Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Tripura and Meghalaya.
The National Florence Nightingale Awards were instituted in the year 1973 by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India as a mark of recognition for the meritorious services rendered by the nurses and nursing professionals to the society.
In her tweet, Murmu said: “The contribution of nurses in strengthening healthcare delivery has been exemplary. These awardees will inspire young nurses and midwives in the country to work with commitment and compassion for the betterment of fellow citizens. My best wishes to the entire nursing fraternity.”
