Presidential polls: Ballot box reaches Nagaland

Ahead of the conduct of presidential election 2022 scheduled on July 18, 2022, the ballot box, ballot papers, special pen, and other sealed election materials dispatched by Election Commission of India, have reached the Nagaland Legislative Assembly secretariat on Wednesday.
In a press note, chief electoral officer (CEO) Nagaland, V Shashank Shekhar, informed that authorized officials brought the ballot box and other election materials by Delhi-Dimapur flight on July 13. After reaching Dimapur airport, the material were directly transported to the strong room at NLA secretariat, Kohima. The authorized officers deputed for collection of election materials from Nagaland included Darhu Shupao, joint secretary & assistant returning officer NLA secretariat; R Mathung, deputy chief election officer, Nagaland; KV Vitoho, section officer, NLA secretariat; Khiudia Newmai, junior section officer, NLA secretariat.
CEO informed that election materials have been stored in previously sanitized and properly sealed strong rooms under strict Videography monitoring.
After the poll is over on July 18, the polled and sealed ballot boxes and other election material would be transported back to Delhi on July 19 to the office of returning officer (secretary general, Rajya Sabha, PC Mody).
CEO informed that the ballot box and other documents during the journeys were carried personally in the aircraft cabins never out of sight of accompanying officers.
