Kohima police has issued traffic advisory in view of the Presidential election scheduled to be held on July 18 at NLA Secretariat, Kohima.
According to PRO Kohima police, only vehicles with car passes will be allowed entry to the Assembly Secretariat– ‘Z’ for legislators, ‘Y’ for concerned departments and media.
Further, no vehicle will be allowed to be parked by the roadside from 6 a.m. onwards during the polls– from BSNL telephone exchange till Classic Island; from Raj Bhavan till M.S Classic Island; from Classic Island to Assembly Secretariat via Razhü point and High School; from New CM official residence, Phezoucha to Assembly Secretariat and from VVIP Residential complex, Thizama to Assembly Secretariat.
Heavy vehicles will not be allowed to ply in Kohima town and barred from parking along ‘D’ Block road during Presidential election session, from 6 a.m. till the election process is over. All loading and unloading of goods in Kohima town should be completed by 6 a.m.
Police will tow away the defaulting vehicles and the charges will be borne by the vehicle owners, it added.
