Proper 5 win Futsal tournament

Proper 5 emerged as the champions of the 1st Open Futsal Tournament by defeating Native Feathers in the final match on September 23 at Junkyard Turf, Padumpukhuri, Dimapur.
The two-day tournament was organized by Western Sumi Sports Association (WSSA). Proper 5 received Rs. 1 lakh while Native Feathers pocketed Rs. 50,000. Khaozang of Proper 5 was named as the best goalkeeper and received Rs. 5000.
According to media cell of WSSA, the tournament opening ceremony was graced by founder and chair YouthNet, Hekani Jakhalu as special guest.
In her speech, Hekani appreciated the leadership role played by the WSSA in promotion of sports at the grass root. She said that sports help in building leadership skills in organizing capacities, team work, better communication skills, help to focus which was critical in capacity building of a child.
Sports Director WSSA/DDFA, Mughato Sumi expressed gratitude to the special guest for her contribution towards development of sports in Western Sumi area.
Earlier, delivering welcome address, WSSA president, VikutoZhimo said that the main theme of the tournament was to instill hope, foster positive mindset and connect with the Western Sumi community especially through sports.
Former president NSF, Ninoto Awomi graced the tournament as guest of honour and head GB and president BJP Dimapur district, Tokuho Suhoi Neho graced the semifinal as match patron.
