A team from the first Community Radio Station in Dimapur, 90.8 Hills FM, led by its managing director, Imali Hesso made a promotional visit to Livingstone Foundation International (LFI) on September 13. The members included programme manager, Ketho Sakhrie and RJ Yogen Chettri.
A press release by LFI stated that Imali Hesso while addressing senior students and mentors, spoke on the importance of reviving the listening culture among people under tagline “bringing back the listening culture”.
She stated that unlike the mainstream radio channels, 90.8 Hills FM was focussed on educating, informing and creating awareness on host of issues including women empowerment, mental health awareness, and disability, besides conducting book and music reviews, local music performances and panel discussions.
She informed that the channel also provided platform to young minds in weaving and have their stories narrated through programme entitled “stories by the fire”.
In this regard, she requested students to be a part of the community radio and contribute towards its positive campaign for community empowerment and development.
In his speech, LFI chairman Dr. Andrew Ahoto Sema expressed happiness at the launch of FM channel with a difference and expressed hope that it would bring definitive transformation in the society through community approach.
