Rahul’s Yatra brings India together successfully; MPCC

Congress in Manipur on Monday joined the celebration of successful completion of AICC leader Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, culminating on January 30 at Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir. Hoisting of the national flag by MPCC working president, T Manga Vaiphei at Congress Bhavan in Imphal marked the celebration of the successful completion of the yatra.
Women activists of the party presented the national anthem while hoisting the national flag. The national flag was hoisted at all district and block level offices of the MPCC at 10 am.
MPCC president K Meghachandra, CLP leader and former chief minister O Ibobi Singh and former deputy chief minister Gaikhangam were among others who attended the culmination rally at Srinagar.
Rahul Gandhi successfully completed his yatra starting from Kanyakumari on September 7, 2022. The foot march coveredthe length of 3,970 km that stretched for over 150 days.
Talking to reporters after hoisting the national flag, Vaiphei added that the yatra was successful as it received overwhelming support from various political parties and the general public.
The yatra was launched with a mission. During the yatra Rahul Gandhi and the Congress protested against the “politics of hatred, intimidation, prejudice and failures of the BJP government”, he said.
“This historic yatra brings India together successfully,” Vaiphei stated.
MPCC leaders including sitting MLAs attended the occasion that also coincided with the observation of the 75th death anniversary of Rashtrapita Mahatma Gandhi. The MPCC working president led party leaders, members and workers in paying floral tribute to the statue of the Mahatma Gandhi inside the Imphal Congress Bhavan to observe the day.
