Rainfall to continue in NE till Oct 15, says IMD

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted fairly widespread moderate rains and isolated heavy rainfall across the North Eastern region till October 15.
According to IMD, fairly widespread moderate rains and Isolated heavy rains in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, Manipur and Sikkim to experience wet weather during next week till 15 October. Places near to the Himalayas are bound to receive very heavy precipitation in this period.
Due to moist southern winds, parts of North East will continue to receive rainfall, it added. Though Monsoon 2022 has left many areas of the country but due to Noru cyclone, there has been a period of rain in many parts of the country for the last several days.
The national capital received the second highest rainfall since 2007, according to IMD data on Sunday.
The city weathered near ceaseless rains– measuring 74mm till 8.30 am Sunday– that brought the maximum temperature on Saturday down by 10 notches, closing in the day-night temperature gap to a record low.
