Regional Ayurveda Research Centre (RARC), Dimapur under Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), ministry of AYUSH has informed that its campaign, “free distribution of prophylactic medicine Samshmani Vati and Ashwagandha Ghan vati and guidelines on diet & lifestyle under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsava” to increase immunity was underway.
In a press release, research assistant (botany), RARC Dimapur, Nikhil Krishna informed that this was initiated across the state and a person who is more than 12 years old could avail the medicines from the institute.
RARC informed the village head/Gaonbura that the team would distribute the medicines in their areas.
The release informed that details including: name and gender of the beneficiary, age, address, contact number and identity card would be required.

It may be mentioned that as part of “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”, CCRAS under the aegis of ministry of AYUSH in September 2021 launched the campaign to combat COVID-19.
In this regard, Regional Ayurveda Research Centre , Dimapur – a peripheral institute of CCRAS has started said campaign since inception and distributions are being done through OPD of RARC where various free medical camps and awareness programmes are also being organised.
Delivery of medicines are also carried out for employees and their family members of various government and other offices, orphanage homes and various health units.
Regional Ayurveda Research Centre informed that more than 9000 people have benefitted from the campaign and the centre set a target to provide 50,000 medicines in the state.
The institute is also distributing free AYUSH-64 tablets for mild and moderate COVID-19 cases through OPD and COVID-19 testing and medicine distribution centres.
