Rotary Club (RC) of Kohima observed International Literacy Day 2022, wherein, eight teachers were selected and awarded with the National Builder Award.
In her speech, club president, Prof. Rosemary Dzüvichü said it was a privilege for the club to organise the event and recognise the teachers.
She disclosed that the award from Rotary International Literacy Mission and Rotary India Literacy Mission was a part of the focus of Rotary on education, schools and teacher support programs.
Prof. Rosemary said this was the first time that Rotary Club Kohima was organising the event and informed that the award carried a citation, a Rotary National Builder Award certificate signed by leading Rotary International representatives along with cash from Rotary Club of Kohima.
She observed that government schools in Nagaland still had a long way to go in terms of infrastructure and facilities.
