Royal Club Kohima observes raising day


Royal Club Kohima (RCK) observed its 35th Raising Day on Tuesday at Riileizou, Kohima with DGP (Rtd), K Kire, as the speaker.
In his address, Kire said, 35 years existence of the club was a laudable feat at the same time a moment to reflect the overall maturity.
Comparing the milestone to a human life, Kire said it was a time of most industrious, agile and active period.
Heralding the club for having reached this milestone, he exuded confidence that the club would remain steadfast and committed towards bringing innovation and change to the society.
He recalled that Royal Club had been credited to have introduced many competitions including open wrestling, volleyball, catch them young, chess, debates and also organizing the All India Football Federation (AIFF) affiliated Royal Gold Cup for many years despite many odds and financial constraints.
He urged the club members to keep the spirit high and let the banner of the club continue to fly high.
On the occasion, the club, while approving the amendment of the constitution also deliberated on the concept and measures to initiate for clean environment and Clean Kohima City.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by club president, Abao Kire, invocation was pronounced by Viechühu Liezietsu, vote of thanks was proposed by vice president, Kesao Kesiezie, while senior club members including Thejao Vihienuo, K Puroh, Er Khrupi, Atuolie Mepfhüo exhorted the members.
