State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI), Medziphema organised a two-day training on “Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) in cereal and kharif crops” from June 16-17 for Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) functionaries.
In a press release, SAMETI Medziphema informed that lecturer, IETC Medziphema, Dr. Vizokhonyü Yhome, SRF, Agronomy, ICAR, Z. Kawikhonliu and A.I, Bio-Control Laboratory, IETC Medziphema, Dr. Moasunep were the resource persons for the training. During the training, the resource persons taught the trainees on composting techniques to improve soil health and crop yield, feasible methods of INM for cereal crops, INM on cereal crop, bio- fertilizer application on maize.
Practical sessions on waste decomposer, different technique of composting was also conducted during the training. The valedictory programme was chaired deputy project director, SAMETI, Janet Chishi; feedback on the training was given by all the participants of 11 districts; certificates were distributed to the trainees by director SAMETI and principal IETC, Dr. Watimongla Jamir and DPD SAMETI, Yezaho Swu delivered the vote of thanks.
