The Women Society Hall of Samziuram village constructed through the generous contribution of Kevizenuo Rangkau, lady-wife of Deputy Chief Minister, TR Zeliang was inaugurated by personal secretary to Deputy Chief Minister (Planning & National Highway), Azeu Namcyn Hau, on Wednesday at Samziuram village in the presence of Samziuram Village Council nembers, NDPP Party leaders from 7 Peren and 6 Tening Assembly Constituencies and other dignitaries.
Gracing the programme as special guest, Hau expressed profound contentment on the timely completion of the Community Hall while congratulating the present executive members of Samziuram Women Society (SWS) for judicious utilisation of the fund that was generously donated by Kevizenuo Rangkau from her own savings. “To give from one’s own pocket to construct a Community Hall explains the level of charitable nature in her when even people in position to render help from Government funds finds it difficult to do so,” Hau said.
While maintaining that ‘Kevizenuo Rangkau since the last several decades has been treating everyone with compassion and supported them morally, physically and financially in every way possible, Hau said that “her good-will efforts have helped many people in our area and in the State in several ways”.
Hau also likened Kevizenuo Rangkau to Mother Theresa and said that ‘Kevizenuo Rangkau is a simple, kind, generous and caring person by nature whose love and affection for the poor and downtrodden is exceptional.’
Referring to Samziuram village as one like a “Mini Town”, Hau said that the village was a fast-growing habitation and had a lot of potential to be at par even with small towns.
Earlier, the inaugural programme commenced with unveiling of plaque by the special guest which was followed by flag hoisting ceremony. While the programme was moderated by Jienmum Malangmei, a dedication prayer was offered by pastor of Seventh Day Adventist Church, Samziuram, James Gonmei.
At the programme, assistant pastor of Liangmai Baptist Pumling, Hudin, invoked God’s blessings while president of Samziuram Women Society (SWS), Leihung delivered the welcome address.
