State Bank of India (SBI), Mon branch organised a farmers’ connect programme (Night Camp- Ratri Shivir) under the theme “Ek Raat Annadata Ke Saath”, on March 18 at Mon village, Mon.
The programme was graced by special guests, Deputy General Manager (DGM), AO Jorhat Module, Jitendra Kant Thakur and Deputy Commissioner of Mon, Ajit Kumar Verma.
The main objective of the programme was to connect with rural farmers and women SHG members and create awareness about various Agri-loans, Kisan Credit Card and extend Bank’s helping hand to women SHGs.
SBI DGM assured the members that the bank will extend cooperation and arrange credit for farmers working towards self-reliance in agriculture.
DC Mon in his speech urged the members to aim for self-sustainability by availing various credit facility products of SBI.
On the occasion, principle sanction letters were distributed to 24 women SHGs.
Branch manager of SBI, Mon Branch, Purwati Longkumer; VDB secretary Tahpang Konyak; Village Angh; Village council members and elders; NSRLM Mon block coordinator; Bank Sakhi; and around 100 farmers and SHG members from three villages of the district attended the programme.
