SCRF concerned over JJM, NLCPR projects

The Samziuram Civil Rights Forum (SCRF) has expressed concern over the ongoing projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and Non Lapsable Central Pool of Resources (NLCPR) Scheme, as these had not materialised as anticipated.

SCRF president Nzedui and secretary Chundi Pamai in a press release appealed to the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) to acquaint the public with the situation at Samziuram village, Peren.
They said the forum had filed an RTI and obtained a reply on August 24, 2023, which was disoriented and tortuous for laymen’s comprehension.

They alleged that the RTI reply regarding the NLCPR and JJM projects in progress contradicted the ground reality. They claimed that the PHED had directed the union to obtain JJM beneficiary list and the work in progress from the JJM website.

Accordingly, the only acquainted and accessible website to the public, ejalshakti.gov.in, divulged that 98.18% of households had been effectuated or completed.

However, in reality, they claimed not a single house, public sector, or institute was connected with Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC). They also alleged that the information furnished regarding the NLCPR project work in progress did not tally with the factual work.

Hence, they declared that the SCRF would strive without fail for the best of the people, state, and nation.
“We are beyond doubt that every righteous and law-abiding citizen and organisation would endorse our fight for transparency, justice, and progress,” the release stated.
