Sumi Hoho (SH)and Sumi frontal organizations have cautioned miscreants disrupting ongoing road construction work in and around Zunheboto to desist from such acts that would invite public fury, and instead support and cooperate with the construction agencies for speedy completion of works.
In a joint statement, SH president I Nikheto Jimomi, Sumi Kukami Hoho (SKH) president Kashito Yepthomi and SH general secretary Dr Vihuto Asumi said they expected every responsible groups and individuals to cooperate with the construction companies and agencies instead of being a stumbling block to the developmental activities.
They also declared that Sumi public would not hesitate to take necessary steps and measures to ensure timely completion of road construction works.
They alleged that some miscreants were disrupting the ongoing road construction works by trying to extort money from the construction companies and agencies. As the people of Zunheboto had been adversely affected due to poor road connectivity and had been suffering for so long, they opined that resumption of SARDP-NE road construction works between Chakhabama and Zunheboto via Satakha and BRO road from Zunheboto to Kiphire via Aghunato came as a big sigh of relief.
While assuring full cooperation, the signatories also urged the companies and agencies undertaking the work to ensure quality works to the people as per specifications. They further appealed to all local civil society groups and elders to bring to the knowledge of SH and Sumi frontal organisations if the ongoing road construction works were found to be substandard.
