Three organisation of Sitimi area under Kiphire district namely Sitimi Area GB’s Union (SAGBU) Sitimi Area Sangtam Students’ Union (SASSU) and Sumi Students’ Union Sitimi Town (SSUST) undertook join inspection on road construction works under its jurisdiction on January 17.
In a press release, the organizations stated that they inspected the ongoing road construction works from L-022 to Shishimi Village under PMGSY scheme and Border Roads Organisation (BRO) correction work between Sitimi to Seyochung.
During the inspection, the team expressed serious concern on the poor quality workmanship and urged the contractors to execute the work as per the Detailed Project Work (DPR) and ensured that quality workmanship be maintained.
The organisations further reiterated that it would not compromise on quality workmanship and would leave no stone unturned if found lapses on any road construction work under its jurisdiction.
While assuring its fullest cooperation, the organisations have urged the contractors to work as per the specifications, failing which they will initiate its own course of action.
The three organisations have also reaffirmed Sitimi Area GB’s Union resolution of November 27, 2021, that no individuals or groups (factions) will be allowed to collect any form of taxation under any road construction schemes within Sitimi area, which will hamper the development of road construction.
