District administrations of Peren and Longleng districts organised mass social work on June 3 at respective districts.
In Peren, district administration led by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Peren, Vineet Kumar initiated the mass social work as part of monsoon preparedness by clearing off the clogged drainages, culverts, and waterways to ensure free flow of water and jungle clearance etc., informed a DIPR report.
District administration, town council, and all heads of offices actively took part in the mass social work. As per direction given by DC Peren, different wards, and villages carried out mass social work within their respective jurisdiction to prevent damage to roads and drainages. The objective of the mass social work was to ensure the prevention of the dangers of disaster in the district.
Longleng: Concerned Citizens of Longleng town held a mass social work supervised by Longleng Town Council and district administration Longleng.
All government departments, wards, non-governmental organisations, and commercial & business establishments participated in cleaning all major roads, drains, and public areas within the urban jurisdiction of Longleng town council.
